THE 2024 EPIC
ENTREPRENEUR

AWARDS

18th October 2024

Young entrepreneurs are rising. More young people than ever are turning to running their own business to find a fulfilling career.

The EPIC Young Entrepreneur Awards are our platform to celebrate and recognise the achievements of young people, especially those who have faced adversity and/or the care of a local authority, to become a startup business.

2022 saw our inaugural EPIC Awards where eight inspirational young entrepreneurs from across the UK were announced as winners. On the back of this success, our EPIC Awards in 20234 and 2024 became an even bigger and better event in our free to enter awards.

ABOUT THE NIGHT

Our EPIC Awards are a community-focused affair with over 150 people in attendance, including the winners and finalists joined by friends and family, other young entrepreneurs from the EPIC programme, local businesses, community supporters and sponsors, brought together at The Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.

Calum Sawford, COO of the Martin James Foundation and Programme Lead for EPIC, comments about our Awards:

"The awards evening was a moment of celebration and recognition, not just for the nine distinguished award winners and the runners-up, or for the over forty nominees, but for all the brave and inspiring young entrepreneurs who are, even now, shaping the future for all of us."

Celebrating Young Entrepreneurs

We are proud to run our EPIC Young Entrepreneur Awards as free to enter for young business owners and entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and resilience in the face of adversity. These awards recognize the achievements of young business owners who have faced challenges and found success and we celebrate their entrepreneurial creativity and passion.

We believe that recognising and rewarding these young entrepreneurs is essential to fostering the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among our youth. Plus our awards allow entrepreneurs to gain valuable support for their company and win a £500 grant for their business in each category.

The criteria for entry is that the nominee's business must have been already be established and operating for at least 6 months, the founder must be aged under 25 years old and must have overcome adversity to achieve their business goals
